Hummus is one of the easiest and quickest condiments to make at home that is super tasty, nutritious and goes with just about anything. Use is as a spread instead of butter or use as a dip for you're veggies (little hint, split pea tubes with this hummus is the ultimate guilt free savoury snack). This vega recipe can be altered using different spices in the base ingredients to achieve different taste sensations!
1 can of organic chick peas ( you can use bulk dried chickpeas but they need to be soaked overnight, the organic canned ways the is always the quickest option.)
1 teaspoon of coriander powder
1 teaspoon of cumin powder
1 - 2 cloves of garlic depending on size
1/4 a cup of lemon juice
salt and pepper to season
extra virgin olive oil, what ever is needed to read desired constancy.
1/4 hemp seeds
Place all ingredients in a high powered blender except for the hemp seeds and blend until you reach thick sooth consistency! Once this achieved stir in your hemp seeds and place in serving dish. Drizzle on some more olive oil and hemp seeds to garnish. There you have it, a quick , tasty and vegan condiment that will keep in an air tight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
