Some of you may be sitting on the fence when it comes to tofu, there is so many different textures and some think it’s too rubbery and tasteless but if cooked right with some yummy flavours I can gaurentee I can convert you! 1 pack of medium to hard firmness tofu
2 tablespoons of sweet chilli sauce
2 tablespoons of tamari / Soy Sauce
1/2 cup of rice or corn flour
1/4 teaspoon of garlic
1/4 teaspoon of ginger
1:4 cup of tamari or soy sauce
A few drops of sesame oil
Cut your tofu into rough 2cm cubes and marinate in the sweet chilli sauce and tamari. This not only adds flavour but acts as a glue for your flour. Instead of making a heavy batter, the use of rice flour or corn flour gives you a light but super crispy coating!
Toss the marinated wet tofu into the flour until each piece is fully coated. Shallow fry the tofu in hot oil until each piece is golden brown.
Add your tofu peices to soups, pho or straight up dip it in sauce! It’s that easy!
